Cory Jerome Aldridge (born June 13, 1979) is a former professional baseball player from the United States. He played as an outfielder. Cory was chosen by the Atlanta Braves in the 1997 Major League Baseball Draft. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Braves and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He also played in the KBO League for the Nexen Heroes in South Korea.

Cory Aldridge's Baseball Journey
Starting His Career
Cory Aldridge began his professional baseball journey in 1997. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves, a well-known team in Major League Baseball. He spent several years playing in the minor leagues. This is where players develop their skills before reaching the big leagues.
In 2001, Cory got his first chance to play in Major League Baseball. He played in eight games for the Atlanta Braves. During this time, he had five chances to hit the ball. However, he did not get any hits and struck out four times.
Playing in the Minor Leagues
After his time with the Braves, Cory continued to play in the minor leagues. In 2008, he played for the Triple-A Omaha Royals. This team was part of the Kansas City Royals organization.
A very successful season for Cory came in 2009. He played 115 games for a team called the Greenville Jacks. That year, he had his best hitting performance ever. He hit for a .292 batting average, which is quite good. He also hit 31 home runs and had 102 RBIs. RBIs mean he helped his teammates score runs.
Back to the Major Leagues
In 2010, Cory Aldridge got another chance in Major League Baseball. He was called up by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He played in the outfield for them.
He achieved a big milestone with the Angels. He got his very first major league hit against the Oakland Athletics. This hit was an triple, which means he ran to third base. It also brought in a run, making it an RBI triple.
Later Career and Other Leagues
After his time with the Angels, Cory continued his baseball career. In 2012, he signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles. However, he did not stay with that team.
Instead, he played in the Mexican League that year. Later, he signed another minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
In 2014, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired Cory. He was promoted from their Double-A team, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. He then moved up to their Triple-A team, the Buffalo Bisons.

Cory Aldridge comes from a family of athletes. His father, Jerry Aldridge, was also a professional athlete. Jerry played American football as a halfback for the San Francisco 49ers.
