Count Felix of Monpezat was born on 22 July 2002. His full birth name was Prince Felix of Denmark. He is a member of the Danish royal family.

Felix is the younger son of Prince Joachim. His mother is Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg. He is the grandson of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik. Felix is also the nephew of King Frederik X. Today, he is seventh in line to the succession to the Danish throne.

About Felix

Felix was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 22 July 2002. He was born at Rigshospitalet, which is the Copenhagen University Hospital.

He was baptised on 4 October 2002. The ceremony took place at Møgeltønder Church in Møgeltønder. His full names were announced as Felix Henrik Valdemar Christian. His godparents include his aunt, Martina Bent. Friends of his parents also became his godparents. These were Count Christian Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, Oscar Davidsen Siesbye, Damian Sibley, and Annick Boel. A special musical piece was played at his baptism. It was called Dåbens Pagt and was written by Frederik Magle just for Prince Felix.

After his parents divorced, Prince Joachim and Countess Alexandra shared care of Felix. They also shared care of his older brother, Prince Nikolai.

Education and Career

Felix went to pre-school at the Garnison Church in Copenhagen. When he was six, he started school at Krebs School in Østerbro. His father, brother, and uncle also went to this school.

In 2018, he began his high school education. He attended Gammel Hellerup Gymnasium. This was a special step for the royal family. He was the first member to go to a public high school.

In 2021, Felix passed his entry exam. This allowed him to join the Royal Danish Military Academy. In October 2021, he decided to leave his military training. He had started a two-year Army's Lieutenant Training in August. This training was at the Gardehus Barracks in Slagelse. After leaving the military, he began a new path. He started working as a model for the luxury jewelry company Georg Jensen.

Titles and Styles

When Felix was born, he was known as "His Highness Prince Felix of Denmark". On 29 April 2008, his title changed. He became "His Highness Prince Felix of Denmark, Count of Monpezat".

In 2022, his grandmother, Queen Margrethe II, made a decision. She decided that the children of her son Joachim would no longer use their princely titles. So, from 1 January 2023, Felix is known as "His Excellency Count Felix of Monpezat". Even with this change, he and his siblings still keep their places in the line to the Danish throne.
