Troy Lee Coleman III (born December 18, 1970), known by his stage name Cowboy Troy, is an American musician famous for mixing country music with rap. This style is called country rap. He is known for being part of the music group MuzikMafia with other artists like Big & Rich.

Early Life and Education
Troy Coleman was born in Victoria, Texas, on December 18, 1970. He went to Skyline High School in Dallas. After high school, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin and earned a degree. Before his music career took off, he worked as an assistant manager at a Foot Locker store.
He got his nickname "Cowboy Troy" in college. A friend gave him the name to tell him apart from other friends named Troy, because he often wore a cowboy hat.
Music Career
Cowboy Troy's music career got a big boost in 2005. He joined a group of artists called the MuzikMafia, which was started by John Rich from the duo Big & Rich. This group helped him become more well-known.
Breakthrough with 'Loco Motive'
On May 17, 2005, Cowboy Troy released his first major album, Loco Motive. It was a huge success and reached the #2 spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
The album's first single was "I Play Chicken with the Train." The song became very popular, reaching #48 on the Hot Country Songs chart. It was also the most downloaded country song on the iTunes Music Store for a day in April 2005.
Collaborations and Other Songs
In 2005, Cowboy Troy worked with Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich on a song called "Our America." The song mixed "The Star-Spangled Banner" with famous American texts like the U.S. Constitution and speeches by Martin Luther King Jr. It was released as a special track on albums by Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson.
He later released other singles like "If You Don't Wanna Love Me" with singer Sarah Buxton and "My Last Yee Haw." In 2006, he released a special song called "Hook 'Em Horns" to celebrate his old college's football team, the Texas Longhorns, winning a national championship.
Later Career and TV Appearances
Cowboy Troy has also appeared on television. He co-hosted the fifth season of the music competition show Nashville Star with the singer Jewel. He also made special appearances on the wrestling show WWE's RAW.
In 2007, he released the album Black in the Saddle. He later parted ways with his record label, Warner Bros. Nashville, but returned in 2014 to release the album King of Clubs. He was also a guest artist on two songs from Vanilla Ice's 2011 album ... (Wisdom, Tenacity and Focus).
In 2012, he performed his hit song "I Play Chicken With the Train" on the TV show Dancing with the Stars. In 2022, he starred in a Western movie called Desperate Riders.
Personal Life
Cowboy Troy is a member of the Republican Party. In politics, a party is a group of people with similar ideas about how a country should be run. In 2008, he performed at the Republican National Convention and supported John McCain for president.
