Crabtree, North Carolina facts for kids
Crabtree is a small place in Haywood County, North Carolina, in the USA. It's found north of Lake Junaluska and sits right next to the Pigeon River.
A Look at Crabtree's Past
Before people from Europe arrived, the land where Crabtree is now was home to the Cherokee people. They and other Native American groups lived here for thousands of years. The Cherokee in Western North Carolina are known as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. They are a special tribe recognized by the government.
Important Historic Places
Crabtree has some very old and important buildings. Two of these are the Davis Family House and the Mount Zion United Methodist Church. These places are so special that they are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are protected because of their history and importance.
