Craig Phillip Robinson (born October 25, 1971) is an American actor, comedian, and musician. He is famous for playing funny and memorable characters in popular TV shows and movies.
You might know him as the friendly warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin on the TV show The Office. He is also famous for playing Doug "the Pontiac Bandit" Judy on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Robinson has also worked with actor Seth Rogen on many movies, including Pineapple Express (2008) and This Is the End (2013).
Robinson is also a talented voice actor. He voiced the ogre chef Cookie in Shrek Forever After (2010) and the cool Mr. Shark in The Bad Guys (2022). He has appeared in many other movies and shows, such as Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) and Dolemite Is My Name (2019). Since 2022, he has starred in the TV series Killing It.

Early Life and Education
Craig Robinson was born on October 25, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois. His mother was a music teacher, and his father was a lawyer. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, he attended Whitney M. Young Magnet High School.
Robinson loved music from a young age. He earned a music degree from Illinois State University in 1994. Later, he got a Master's degree in Education from Saint Xavier University. Before becoming a famous actor, he worked as a music teacher in elementary and middle schools in Illinois and Indiana.
Career in Entertainment
Acting and Comedy
While in college, Robinson started performing stand-up comedy. He also took acting and improv classes at the famous The Second City theater in Chicago. He appeared on TV shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and started getting small roles in shows like Friends and Arrested Development.
His big break came in 2005 when he was cast as Darryl Philbin in The Office. His character became so popular that he became a main cast member. He stayed with the show until it ended in 2013.
Robinson is also known for playing funny recurring characters. On Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he played Doug Judy, a car thief who becomes friends with the main character. He also voiced LeVar "Freight Train" Brown on the animated show The Cleveland Show.
He has appeared in many movies, often with his friend Seth Rogen. Some of their movies together include Pineapple Express, This Is the End, and the animated movie Sausage Party.
Robinson has also shown his serious acting skills. He played the musician Maceo Parker in the movie Get On Up. He also received great reviews for his role in the drama film Morris from America (2016).
