Jerome Charles Minor Jr. is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He is famous for his funny roles in many TV shows. Some of these include Mr. Show, Saturday Night Live, Delocated, Brickleberry, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Early Life and Comedy Start

Minor was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in Flint, Michigan. During his younger years, Minor was raised in the Jehovah's Witness faith. Later, he chose a different path in his life.

He started his comedy journey by doing stand-up comedy. He also wrote and performed with sketch comedy groups in Detroit. Eventually, he joined the famous Second City comedy group in Detroit. This group is known for its improv comedy.

Minor performed in three shows there. Then, he moved to Second City Chicago for two shows. After that, he joined Second City Toronto for one show. At that time, he was the only performer to have worked with all three Second City touring groups!

TV Shows and Famous Roles

Minor became a cast member and writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL). He was on the show for one season, from 2000 to 2001. He left the show because the producers needed to hire new cast members. They also had to stay within their budget.

One of Minor's best-known works on SNL was a recurring sketch called Rap Street. He performed this with Horatio Sanz. He also appeared on Weekend Update as Al Sharpton.

More Sketch Comedy and TV Appearances

Besides SNL, Minor appeared on other sketch comedy shows. He was a cast member on HBO's Mr. Show during its last season. He also worked briefly as a reporter on The Daily Show in early 2000.

Minor had a recurring role as Officer Carter on Arrested Development. He was also a main cast member on Comedy Central's debate show parody Crossballs in 2004. He even worked as a writer and performer on the short-lived FOX sketch series Cedric the Entertainer Presents.

In 2006, Minor was a main cast member on the HBO series Lucky Louie. He played Walter, who was Louis C.K.'s neighbor. Minor received praise for his role in Lucky Louie from TV Guide magazine.

He was also part of the cast of the 2008 ABC sitcom Carpoolers. In this show, he played the character Aubrey. Minor was also a featured comedian on Lewis Black's Root of All Evil on Comedy Central.

In 2010, Minor became popular online for his appearances as "Cyber Thug" on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast. This character even got his own short-lived podcast called Cyber Thug Radio.

Musical Comedy and Films

For several years, Minor and comedian Craig Robinson had a comedy act. They performed as a musical duo called "L. Witherspoon & Chucky." Minor played "L. Witherspoon," the smooth singer. Robinson played "Chucky," the keyboard player and back-up singer. They performed this act on Comedy Central shows. They also appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Minor has also appeared in several films. These include I Love You, Man, Drillbit Taylor, and Beer League. He also had a small part in the 2003 movie Melvin Goes to Dinner. This film was directed by Bob Odenkirk.

Later Career and Voice Acting

In 2010, Minor co-starred as "Mighty Joe Jon the Black Blonde" in the second season of the Adult Swim series Delocated. He has also had recurring roles on many other comedy shows. These include:
