Early Life and First Steps in Acting

Cristián de la Fuente was born in Santiago, Chile. His father, Hugo de la Fuente, was a chemist, and his mother, Adriana Sabarots, was a homemaker. Before becoming an actor, Cristián was part of the Chilean Air Force reserve. He also studied civil engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

While still in college, Cristián was discovered by a talent scout. He was encouraged to enter a contest called Super Teen, which he won! This win helped him get roles in several Chilean soap operas. These included “Eclipse de luna” in 1997. He also became a host for a popular Chilean variety show called “Venga conmigo” from 1995 to 2002.

Cristián was already a well-known TV actor in South America. He then started to work in the United States, appearing in independent films. He got bigger roles in Hollywood movies like “Basic” (2003). He also appeared in popular TV shows like “CSI: Miami” and “Soñar no cuesta nada” (2005). In 2008, he became even more famous internationally when he joined the TV show “Dancing with the Stars”.
