Cristián de la Fuente (born March 10, 1974) is a famous actor, TV host, model, and producer from Chile. He started his career acting in Chilean TV shows called telenovelas. Later, he moved to the United States to star in TV series like Family Law (1999–2001) and Hidden Hills (2002–2003).
Cristián also appeared in movies such as the action film Driven (2001), Vampires: Los Muertos (2002), and Basic (2003). He was also a regular actor in the TV shows In Plain Sight (2008–12) and Devious Maids (2015). Besides his English-speaking roles, Cristián has acted in many Spanish-language telenovelas.

Early Life and First Steps in Acting
Cristián de la Fuente was born in Santiago, Chile. His father, Hugo de la Fuente, was a chemist, and his mother, Adriana Sabarots, was a homemaker. Before becoming an actor, Cristián was part of the Chilean Air Force reserve. He also studied civil engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
While still in college, Cristián was discovered by a talent scout. He was encouraged to enter a contest called Super Teen, which he won! This win helped him get roles in several Chilean soap operas. These included “Eclipse de luna” in 1997. He also became a host for a popular Chilean variety show called “Venga conmigo” from 1995 to 2002.
Cristián was already a well-known TV actor in South America. He then started to work in the United States, appearing in independent films. He got bigger roles in Hollywood movies like “Basic” (2003). He also appeared in popular TV shows like “CSI: Miami” and “Soñar no cuesta nada” (2005). In 2008, he became even more famous internationally when he joined the TV show “Dancing with the Stars”.

Starting in the U.S.
In 1998, Cristián was chosen by Telemundo to star in “Reyes y Rey”. This show was a remake of the American series “Starsky and Hutch”. Even though the show didn't last long, Cristián soon moved on to work in American television.
He made his U.S. TV debut in 1999 on an episode of “Pensacola: Wings of Gold”. After that, he got a role as a law clerk named Andres Diaz in the drama “Family Law” (1999-2002). For this role, he was nominated for an ALMA award in 2000.
Movies and More TV Shows
Working more in the U.S. helped Cristián become known to American audiences. He made his first movie appearance with Sylvester Stallone in the racing film “Driven” (2001). He also played a vampire-hunting priest with Jon Bon Jovi in “Vampires: Los Muertos” (2002).
Cristián also appeared in the military thriller “Basic” (2003) with John Travolta. He had several appearances on “CSI: Miami” as a lab technician named Sam Belmontes between 2003 and 2004.
He also acted in romantic dramas like “Sueño” (2005) and the comedy “Once Upon a Wedding” (2005).
Hosting and Reality TV
During this time, Cristián was a popular host for many Spanish-language TV specials and series. These included the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards and the music show “2006 Premios Juventud”. He also hosted and helped produce a Chilean reality series called “Golpe Bajo” (2007).
In 2005, he starred in the popular Venezuelan soap opera “Soñar no cuesta nada”. This show was filmed in Miami, Florida. He also made guest appearances on shows like “One on One”, “The Class”, and “Ugly Betty”.
Even with all his acting, Cristián continued to be involved with the Chilean Air Force. He sometimes performed with their aerial acrobatic team, the Halcones.
Dancing with the Stars and Recent Work
In 2008, Cristián's fame in the U.S. grew a lot when he joined the sixth season of “Dancing With the Stars”. He danced with professional partner Cheryl Burke. He finished in 3rd place on the show.
Cristián also hosted the Latin Grammy Awards of 2008 in Houston, Texas. From 2008 to 2012, he played Raphael "Raph" Ramírez on the show In Plain Sight. He also had roles in telenovelas like Fuego en la sangre (2009) and Corazón salvaje (2009–2010).
More recently, Cristián starred as Maximiliano Montesinos in the Mexican telenovela Quiero amarte (2013–2014). He also appeared in Devious Maids (2015) and Sueño de amor (2016). He is set to play Ricardo De La Cruz in the romantic comedy film Switch Up.
