María Cristina Cifuentes Cuencas (born 1 July 1964) is a former Spanish politician. She was the President of the Community of Madrid from June 2015 to April 2018. Before that, she served as the Government Delegate in the Community of Madrid from 2012 to 2015.

Early Life and Education
Cristina Cifuentes was born in Madrid, Spain, on July 1, 1964. When she was 16, in 1980, she joined a political group called People's Alliance. This group later became known as the People's Party. She studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid.
Political Career
Cristina Cifuentes began her political journey early. She became a member of the Assembly of Madrid in 1991. This is like being a representative for the people in the Madrid region. She held this position for many years.
In 2012, she became the Government Delegate in the Community of Madrid. This role involves representing the national government in the region. She served in this position until 2015.
In 2015, Cristina Cifuentes was elected President of the Community of Madrid. This is a very important leadership role for the region. She won the election with support from another political party, Citizens. She served as president until April 2018.
Later Activities
After leaving her role as President, Cristina Cifuentes also stepped down from other political positions. She resigned from her seat in the Assembly of Madrid in May 2018. She then announced that she was retiring from politics.
Since October 2019, she has appeared on television programs. She has been a panelist on shows like Ya es mediodía and Todo es mentira.
