María Cristina Cifuentes Cuencas (born July 1, 1964) is a Spanish politician who is no longer active in politics. She was a member of the People's Party.
Cristina Cifuentes served as the President of the Community of Madrid. This is a very important role in the government of Madrid, Spain. She held this position from June 24, 2015, until her resignation on April 25, 2018. Before that, she was the Government Delegate in the Community of Madrid from 2012 to 2015.

Cristina Cifuentes was born in Madrid, Spain. When she was 16 years old, in 1980, she joined a political group. This group was called People's Alliance. Later, this group became the People's Party of Spain. She studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid.

On April 25, 2018, Cristina Cifuentes resigned from her role as President of the Community of Madrid. This happened after some controversies came to light. After her resignation, Ángel Garrido took over as acting president.
A few days later, on April 27, 2018, she also resigned from her position as president of the People's Party of the Community of Madrid. On May 8, 2018, she resigned from her seat in the Assembly of Madrid. At that time, she announced that she was leaving politics completely.
