Crooked Lake is a really special lake in Polk County, Florida, United States. It's so important that it's officially called an "Outstanding Florida Water" by the state! This means it's super clean and healthy, and people work hard to keep it that way.
The lake is located near a few towns. You can find it west of Babson Park, north and west of Hillcrest Heights, and east of Crooked Lake Park. If you ever visit Webber International University, you'll see that it's right on the lake's edge!

Crooked Lake is one of the biggest lakes in Polk County. It holds a huge amount of water, over 21.6 billion US gallons! That's a lot of water! The deepest part of the lake goes down about 45 feet (which is about 13.7 meters).
A Look Back in Time
Long ago, Native Americans called this lake "Caloosa Lake." It's located on something called the Lake Wales Ridge. This ridge is one of the highest areas in the whole Florida peninsula. Imagine standing on a high spot and looking out over the land – that's where Crooked Lake is!
