Crow Wing Chain of Lakes facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

The Crow Wing Chain of Lakes is a cool series of eleven lakes found along the Crow Wing River in Hubbard County, Minnesota. Imagine them like beads on a string! These lakes are about 90 miles (140 km) (that's about 145 kilometers) upstream from where the Crow Wing River joins the famous Mississippi River. Even though they are all connected, some parts have small dams. This means you can't always go from one lake to the next in a motorboat, but you can usually paddle through in a canoe!
