Where is Crown Hill Located?
Crown Hill has clear borders that separate it from other neighborhoods.
- To the south, you'll find N.W. 85th Street. Beyond this street are the neighborhoods of Loyal Heights, Whittier Heights, and Ballard.
- To the east, the border is 8th Avenue N.W. On the other side is Greenwood.
- To the north, Crown Hill ends at NW 105th Street. Beyond this are Broadview, Carkeek Park, and Blue Ridge.
- To the west, the neighborhood is bordered by 15th Avenue N.W. Past this street are Loyal Heights, Sunset Hill, and Golden Gardens Park.
A Look at Crown Hill's History
Crown Hill wasn't always part of Seattle. It used to be a separate area in King County. This area was called "unincorporated" because it didn't belong to any city. On January 4, 1954, Crown Hill officially joined Seattle. This process is called "annexation." It means the city of Seattle grew bigger by adding Crown Hill to its area.
