Broadview is a cool neighborhood located in the northwest part of Seattle, Washington, in the United States. It's known for its amazing views of the water and mountains.

Where is Broadview Located?
Broadview is easy to find on a map!
- To the west, it's bordered by the beautiful Puget Sound.
- To the north, it touches the city limits of Seattle. Beyond this is Shoreline and a community called The Highlands.
- To the east, you'll find Greenwood Avenue North, with the Bitter Lake neighborhood just past it.
- To the south, Carkeek Park marks the boundary. After the park, you'll find neighborhoods like Blue Ridge, Crown Hill, and Greenwood.
Why is it Called Broadview?
The name "Broadview" makes a lot of sense! It was chosen because the neighborhood offers wide, open views. From its western hillsides, you can see incredible panoramic sights of the Puget Sound and the tall Olympic Mountains. It's a truly scenic spot!
What's Broadview's History?
Broadview has an interesting past.
- Farmers first started settling here in June 1889. This was right after the Great Seattle Fire.
- Back then, there were no roads, so farmers had to float their goods to Seattle using the Puget Sound.
- Later, people began logging in the area, cutting down trees for wood.

Cool Places to Visit in Broadview
Broadview has some neat spots to explore!
- The Bluff: On the western side of Broadview, there's a bluff. Below it, the BNSF Railway mainline runs right along the Puget Sound.
- Carkeek Park: This large park is in the southwest corner, right on the shoreline. Inside the park, you'll find Pipers Creek.
- E.B. Dunn Gardens: Broadview is home to these historic gardens. They were designed by the famous Olmsted firm, who also designed many of Seattle's parks. You can visit the gardens, but you usually need to make a reservation first.
- Llandover Woods Greenspace: Located on the northwest side, near The Highlands, this greenspace is a natural treasure. It's home to many native animals and plants, like owls, eagles, mountain beavers, and very old trees. These species have been protected because not many homes were built in this specific area.
