History of Crowville
Crowville began as a settlement in 1825. It was named after an early settler and store owner named T. J. Crow.
In the 1830s, some Native American people were still living in the Franklin Parish area, including around Crowville. Around 1831, families from different parts of Louisiana and other states started moving to Crowville. These early settlers mostly worked as farmers.

The Franklin Parish School Board manages the schools in this area. Students from Crowville attend Franklin Parish High School. This high school was created in 2005 when Crowville High School and Winnsboro High School joined together.
