Crystal Shinelle Cox (born March 28, 1979) is an American athlete. She is known for her skills in track and field. Crystal also appeared on the TV show Survivor. She was part of the U.S. national team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

Crystal Cox's Sports Journey
Early Running Days
Crystal Cox was a talented sprinter in college. She ran for the North Carolina Tar Heels track and field team. She was recognized as an All-American athlete. In 1998, she finished 8th in the 4 × 100 meter relay at a big college championship.
Olympic Games and Challenges
Crystal won a gold medal in the women's 4x400 meter relay at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. She ran in the early races, which helped her team get to the final. Other athletes, DeeDee Trotter, Monique Henderson, Sanya Richards, and Monique Hennagan, ran in the final race.
Later, in 2012, Crystal's gold medal was taken away. This happened because she admitted to breaking rules about performance-enhancing substances. However, in 2013, the other members of the 2004 U.S. relay team were allowed to keep their gold medals. In 2004, Crystal was also the American indoor champion for the 200 meter race.

Crystal Cox was a contestant on Survivor: Gabon. This season of the popular reality show started in the fall of 2008. On Survivor, contestants live in a remote location and compete in challenges. They also vote each other out of the game.
Her Time in Gabon
Crystal's team had a tough time, losing many challenges. Despite this, she managed to stay in the game for a long time. She made it to the final six contestants. Crystal formed a group with friends like Kenny Hoang, Jessica "Sugar" Kiper, Susie Smith, and Matty Whitmore. In December 2008, Crystal was voted off the show. She then became one of the jury members who decided the winner.
Recent Appearances
In May 2023, Crystal competed again in a special event. She was a celebrity team captain in the second season of the NMB Celebrity Survivor Challenge. She did very well, reaching the final tribal council. She ended up tying for second place in the competition.
