What is a Commune?
A commune is the smallest type of administrative area in France. Think of it like a town or a village. Each commune has its own local government and mayor.
Why Communes Merge
Sometimes, smaller communes like Cré join together to form a bigger one. This can happen for a few reasons:
- Better Services: A larger commune might be able to offer more services to its residents, like better schools or sports facilities.
- More Efficient Government: It can be easier to manage resources and make decisions when there's one larger government instead of many small ones.
- Stronger Together: A bigger commune can have more influence and attract more projects or businesses.
