Csilla Hegedüs was born on September 9, 1967. She is a Romanian politician. She was a member of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR).
From November to December 2014, she held two important jobs. She was the Minister of Culture. She also served as the Deputy Prime Minister in the government led by Victor Ponta. Before that, from March to November 2014, she worked as a State Secretary in the same Culture Ministry.

Csilla Hegedüs's Education and Early Career
Learning and Degrees
Csilla Hegedüs studied economics at Babeș-Bolyai University. She earned her degree in 1997. She also studied tourism and business management at Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University. In 2009, she received another degree. This one was in adult education from the University of Pécs.
Working to Preserve History
From 1997 until March 2014, Csilla Hegedüs led the Transylvania Trust Foundation. This foundation works to protect old and important buildings in Transylvania. It helps keep history alive for future generations.
Her Time in Government
Becoming a State Secretary
In March 2014, Csilla Hegedüs started working for the government. She became a State Secretary at the Culture Ministry. This role meant she helped the Minister of Culture with their duties.
Rising to Minister and Deputy Prime Minister
Later that year, in November 2014, she was promoted. She became the Minister of Culture. At the same time, she also took on the role of Deputy Prime Minister. This made her a very important person in the Romanian government.
Leaving Government Service
Csilla Hegedüs's time in these top roles was short. Her political party decided to leave the government. Because of this, she also left her cabinet positions the following month, in December 2014.
