Visiting Cueva Ventana
Cueva Ventana is a very popular place for visitors. Many people from Puerto Rico and other countries come to see it. At first, there was a fee to visit only on Saturdays and Sundays. This was because the cave became so popular.
In January 2013, a daily entrance fee was started. It was raised again the next month. A special boardwalk was built from the gas station. It leads about 200 feet into the trail. There is also a small parking lot behind the gas station.
As more and more people visited, different fees were set for different days. Visitors now get safety gear for a guided tour that lasts about 45 minutes. The busiest times are Saturdays and Sundays, from morning until just before night. You can also take tours at night on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Protecting the Cave
In November 2012, the local government in Arecibo wanted to protect Cueva Ventana. They planned to talk to the gas station owner. Their goal was to buy the land next to the cave. Then, they wanted to give it to the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources. This would help keep the cave safe and prevent damage.
