What's in a Name? The Story of Cuevas del Becerro
Have you ever wondered how a town gets its name? For Cuevas del Becerro, there are a couple of interesting ideas!
One popular story says that the town is named after a 'golden calf' (a young cow) found in one of its caves. These caves are on the north side of the village, near a river.
Another idea is that the caves were once used to keep male cows (sires). Farmers might have brought their cows there to breed. Both ideas are just guesses, but they make the town's name quite unique!
