Cuncapata is a mountain in the Vilcanota mountain range. This range is part of the huge Andes mountains in Peru. Cuncapata is about 5,400 meters (or 17,717 feet) high.
The name Cuncapata might come from the Aymara or Quechua languages. In these languages, kunka can mean "throat." Pata can mean "step," "elevated place," "above," "at the top," or "edge/bank." So, it could mean something like "throat-shaped elevated place."

Cuncapata is found in the Cusco Region of Peru. Specifically, it's in the Canchis Province, within the Pitumarca District.
