History of Cundiff
How Cundiff Got Its Name
Before it was called Cundiff, this area had a different name: Melson Ridge. It was named after a local hill, which itself was named for the Melson family who lived there.
The name changed to Cundiff when a post office opened in 1925. It's believed the community was named after Rester C. Cundiff. He was the postmaster at the time, which is the person in charge of a post office.
