Curtis Kitchen (born January 30, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a tall player, standing 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 meters) and weighing 235 pounds (107 kg). He played as a power forward, which is a position close to the basket. Curtis was born in Cape Coral, Florida. He played college basketball for four seasons at the University of South Florida from 1982 to 1986.

Drafted by the SuperSonics
After college, Curtis Kitchen was chosen in the 1986 NBA draft. The Seattle SuperSonics picked him as the 122nd player overall. This was in the sixth round of the draft.
He played for the SuperSonics during the 1986–87 NBA season. He appeared in 6 regular season games and 8 playoff games. In those regular season games, he scored about 1.5 points and grabbed 1.5 rebounds per game.
Playing in Other Leagues
Continental Basketball Association (CBA)
Curtis Kitchen also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). This was another professional basketball league in the United States. He played there for three seasons.
In the 1986–87 season, he played for the Albany Patroons. He was recognized as one of the best defensive players in the league that year. He was chosen for the CBA All-Defensive First Team.
Later, he played for the Yakima Sun Kings in the 1994–95 and 1995–96 seasons. With the Sun Kings, he helped his team win a CBA championship in 1995. Overall, in 134 CBA games, he averaged 5.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
Playing Overseas
Curtis Kitchen also played basketball in other countries. From 1987 to 1992, he played for Mulhouse in France. He then played for Cholet, another French team, from 1992 to 1993. In 1992, he was named an LNB All-Star, which means he was one of the best players in the French league.
