The Custer House is a special historic home located at Fort Riley in Kansas, United States. It was built way back in 1855 using local limestone. This house helps us understand what military life was like on the American frontier during the time of the Indian Wars.

The house still looks much like it did when it was first built. Inside, you'll find furniture from the 1880s and 1890s. This helps visitors imagine life from over a hundred years ago.

For a long time, people thought this house was where George Armstrong Custer lived. He was a famous general. However, later research showed that General Custer and his wife actually lived in the house next door, at number 21, when they were stationed here in 1866.
