Cvetka Bevc is a Slovenian writer and poet, born on October 29, 1960, in Slovenj Gradec, which is now part of Slovenia. She is known for writing many different kinds of stories, including poems, novels, radio plays, and books especially for children.
She studied musicology (the study of music) and comparative literature (looking at how literature compares across different cultures) at the University of Ljubljana. She also continued her studies in Ireland at University College Cork. Cvetka Bevc has worked as an editor for Glasbena mladina, a music magazine for young people. She also worked at Radiotelevizija Slovenija, which is Slovenia's national TV and radio station, and for the Slovene Writers' Association. Her novel Potovci (which means 'Travellers') was even nominated for a big award in 2012 called the Kresnik Award.
