Džej Ramadanovski (Serbian Cyrillic: Џеј Рамадановски; 29 May 1964 – 6 December 2020) was a famous Serbian singer. He was known for his folk, turbo-folk, and pop-folk music.
He began his singing career in 1987. Džej released many albums, especially during the 1990s. He stopped recording new music in the early 2000s due to health reasons. Between 1988 and 2003, he released 13 albums. After that, he released a few more songs. He kept performing and toured around the world. Džej passed away on December 6, 2020, in Belgrade, at 56 years old, from a heart attack.

About Džej Ramadanovski
Early Life and Music Start
Džej Ramadanovski was born on May 29, 1964. He came from a working-class family of Romani heritage. His father, Mazlam, was a shoemaker, and his mother was Barija. His family originally came from the town of Resen, which is now in North Macedonia.
When Džej was young, his parents divorced. He had a challenging upbringing and spent some time living with his grandmother. He also spent time in care. He grew up in the Dorćol neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital city. After serving in the army, Džej worked different jobs and started singing in local clubs.
His Hit Songs and Awards
A songwriter named Marina Tucaković discovered Džej. He became very popular after coming in second place at the 1987 International Music Fair (MESAM). His song was "Zar ja da ti brišem suze."
He became famous for many songs, including "Nedelja" (1991), "Sunce ljubavi" (1995), and "Upalite za mnom sveće" (1996). In 2008, Džej was the runner-up at the Grand Music Festival with his song "Imati pa nemati." He was also nominated for the Male Folk Singer of the Year award in 2011.
Džej continued to record music, releasing almost one album every year during the 1990s and early 2000s. He worked with many talented lyricists and music arrangers.
Beyond Music
Besides singing, Džej also appeared in a few movies. He had small roles in Hajde da se volimo 2 (1989) and Vikend sa ćaletom (2020).
Džej had two daughters, Ana and Marija, with his former wife, Nada.
Later Years and Passing
In July 2017, Džej Ramadanovski had his first heart surgery in Vienna, Austria.
In early 2020, doctors found a blood clot on one of his heart valves during a check-up. On December 6, 2020, Džej passed away from a heart attack. He was buried five days later.
