Music Career Highlights
In October 2017, DC the Don released his song "Everything 1K." This song caught the attention of NBA player Lonzo Ball. Davis shared in an interview that he made the song very quickly, in about ten minutes. In February 2019, he released another song called "3AM Freestyle."
He first signed with a family-owned music company called Run Music LLC. However, he later had some contract issues with them. In 2019, he started a social media campaign with the hashtag "FREE DC" to highlight these problems. He was released from his contract in 2020. After that, he signed with Rostrum Records, where he still works today. Later in 2020, his song "Worst Day" became popular. This song was part of the special edition of his first album, Come As You Are.
In late 2021, he released two more songs: "Notice Me" and "What Now?". In January 2022, he was supposed to perform in Houston, Texas. He was scheduled to perform with his friend and fellow artist Sad Frosty, but the performance did not happen. In February 2022, he released "PSA." This was the last song before his second album, My Own Worst Enemy, came out. In August 2022, he was featured on American rapper yvngxchris' album Virality. He appeared on the song "QuikkSkope."
On February 23, 2023, DC The Don announced he would go on tour with the well-known artist $NOT. In May 2023, Davis released his third studio album, Funeral. He was later chosen as the winner of the 10th spot on the 2023 XXL Freshman List. This list highlights new and rising hip-hop artists.
