Daebang Station is a busy train station in Seoul, South Korea. It's part of Seoul Subway Line 1, which is one of the main subway lines in the city. This station helps thousands of people travel every day!
The station first opened on August 15, 1974. Its name came from Daebang-dong, the area where it was originally located. However, due to changes in district boundaries, Daebang Station is now officially in Singil-dong.

Station Layout and Design
Daebang Station is built above ground. It has a special design with different types of platforms for trains. This helps many trains pass through and stop efficiently.
Platforms at Daebang Station
The station has three platforms where passengers get on and off trains. There are also four tracks, which are the railway lines the trains run on.
- Platform 1: For trains heading towards Dongincheon or Sinchang (these are rapid trains).
- Platform 2: For trains going to Yongsan (these are also rapid trains).
- Platform 3: For trains heading towards Incheon, Sinchang, or Seodongtan (these are local trains).
- Platform 4: For trains going to Soyosan (these are local trains).
Rapid trains skip some stations to get to their destination faster, while local trains stop at every station. Express trains on Line 1 do not stop at Daebang Station.
Station Levels
Daebang Station has different levels to help people move around easily:
- L2 (Level 2): This is where the train platforms are located.
- L1 (Level 1): This level is the concourse, which is like a main hall. Here you can find customer service, vending machines for tickets or snacks, and ATMs.
- G (Ground Level): This is the street level, where you can exit the station to the outside world.
- B1 (Basement 1): There's also a basement concourse that connects to the ground level for exits.
