Dag Shang Kagyü is a special Buddhist temple found in Panillo, a small town in Huesca, Spain. It's a place where people can learn about and practice Buddhism.

History of the Temple
The temple was started in 1984 by a very respected teacher named H.Em Kalu Rinpoche. From 1985 onwards, it also became a center where people could study Buddhist practices. The land for the monastery was first bought in 1984. Later, more land was given by students of Kalu Rinpoche, helping the temple grow bigger.
What Makes Dag Shang Kagyü Special?
This temple is built in a traditional style from Bhutan, a country in the Himalayas. It has a tall, special building called a stupa, which is about 17 meters high. A stupa is a dome-shaped building often used for meditation or as a shrine.
Inside the temple, there is a school that teaches about Buddhist writings, philosophy, and the Tibetan language. It's also a place where people can come to live and study for many months or even years. These people want to focus deeply on their spiritual journey.
Who Lives and Teaches There?
The main leader of the temple is a teacher called a lama. The current director is Lama Drubgyu Tenpa. There are eight other lamas who live at Dag Shang Kagyü. Five of them are from Bhutan, and the others are from Europe. They guide the students and visitors.
A Welcoming Place for All
Dag Shang Kagyü is part of something called the Rimé movement. This means it's a "non-sectarian" place. It respects all different Buddhist traditions and believes that there are many ways to find spiritual understanding. This makes it a very open and welcoming place for anyone interested in learning about Buddhism.
