Daggett started in 1880. It was named after a man named Charles Daggett. He owned a saw mill there. A saw mill is a place where logs are cut into lumber. This mill was very important to the community. It was like the main business in Daggett at that time.
Also in 1880, a post office opened in Daggett. People could send and receive mail there. But the post office closed down in 1896.
