Daine Klate (born 25 January 1985) is a famous retired South African football player. He was a midfielder, known for playing on the left wing. Daine was born in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

Growing Up and Starting Football
Daine Klate grew up in Gelvandale, a neighbourhood in Port Elizabeth. He loved football from a young age. He started playing for his primary school team when he was just eight years old. He kept playing football all through high school.
Daine's Football Journey
Becoming a Professional Player
Daine started his football journey at a local club called Glenville Celtic in Port Elizabeth. When he was 15, he moved to Gauteng to join the Transnet School of Excellence, a special school for young athletes. In 2002, he joined the youth academy of Supersport United.
Supersport United Success
In 2004, when Daine was 19, he joined Supersport United's main team. He quickly became a key player on the left wing. He played over 100 league games for the club. Daine was a very important part of Supersport United winning the Premiership three times in a row: in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
Joining Orlando Pirates
In 2010, Daine Klate signed with the Orlando Pirates. Many Pirates fans believed he brought good luck to the team.
First Season: 2010-11
In his first knockout competition with Pirates, they won the MTN 8 Cup. This was their first major trophy since 2003. That same season, Orlando Pirates went on to win the "treble." This means they won three big trophies: the MTN 8 Cup, the Nedbank Cup, and their third Premier Soccer League title. This league title was Daine's fourth in a row, as he had won three with Supersport United before joining Pirates.
Second Season: 2011-12
Daine and his teammates continued their winning streak. They successfully defended the MTN 8 Trophy. They also won their first-ever Telkom Knockout Trophy. To top it off, they defended their league title, winning their second "treble" in a row! This league title was Daine Klate's fifth in a row. This made him the first player ever to win the league title in five consecutive seasons.
Daine Klate joined football legends like Andre Arendse by winning the league title five times. The record for most league titles is held by Neil Tovey, who won it six times.
Returning to Supersport United
In 2015, Daine Klate returned to Supersport United on loan from Orlando Pirates. The club officially announced his return.
Playing for South Africa
Daine Klate also played for the South Africa national team. He made his first appearance on 16 July 2005, in a game against Panama. He played 13 games for his country and scored one goal.

Managerial Career
After retiring as a player, Daine Klate became a football coach. In October 2023, he was appointed as the head coach of La Masia football club.
