Daisuke Hoshi (星 大輔, Hoshi Daisuke, born December 10, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder for several clubs in Japan during his career.
Playing Career
Daisuke Hoshi was born in Machida, Tokyo on December 10, 1980. He started his football journey in the youth team of Yokohama F. Marinos in 1996. He officially joined the senior team in 1999.
In 2000, he moved to FC Tokyo. Later that year, he was loaned to J2 League club Omiya Ardija. A "loan" means a player temporarily plays for another team. He played a few games for Omiya Ardija.
Hoshi returned to FC Tokyo in 2002. He played many matches as a right midfielder at the start of that year. However, his playing time became less later in the season.
In 2003, he joined another J2 club, Montedio Yamagata. Here, he became a "regular player," meaning he played in most of the team's games. He stayed with them for two seasons.
He then moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga in 2005. He continued to be a regular player there. However, injuries in 2006 reduced his chances to play.
In 2008, Hoshi joined Japan Football League (JFL) club Tochigi SC. The JFL is a league below J1 and J2. His club was promoted to the J2 League in 2009. However, he did not play much during his two seasons with Tochigi SC.
Finally, in 2010, he moved to his hometown club, FC Machida Zelvia, which was also in the JFL. He played many games for them over two seasons. His team was promoted to the J2 League for the 2012 season. Daisuke Hoshi retired from playing football at the end of the 2011 season.
