Daisuke Nishio (西尾 大介, Nishio Daisuke, born April 1, 1959) is a Japanese animator and director. He is famous for his work on many popular anime shows and movies. He joined Toei Doga (which is now called Toei Animation) in 1981.
After working on several TV shows as an animator, he became an assistant director for Dr. Slump - Arale-chan in 1982. He then became a director in 1986, starting with the Dragon Ball TV series and its first movie, Dragon Ball: The Legend of Shenlong. Daisuke Nishio also directed the very popular sequel series, Dragon Ball Z, and many of its movies.
