Dale Mallory has held several important roles. He was once the President of the Cincinnati West End Community Council. This council helps local neighborhoods.

Before becoming a politician, Mallory worked for General Electric. He was a manufacturing facilitator there. This means he helped make sure things were built correctly.

He also took part in the Democratic Party in Hamilton County. He served as a precinct executive and a ward chairman. These roles help organize local elections and party activities.

Serving in the Ohio House of Representatives

Dale Mallory followed in his family's footsteps in politics. His father, William L. Mallory Sr., and his brother, Mark Mallory, had both held the same seat in the Ohio House of Representatives.

When the previous representative, Catherine Barrett, could no longer run, Dale Mallory decided to seek the position. In 2006, he won the Democratic primary election. He then won the general election against Kimberly Hale. He was reelected easily in 2008.

During his time in the Ohio House, Mallory took on important leadership roles. For the 128th General Assembly, he was named the Second Vice President of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. This group works on issues important to African-American communities.

Mallory was reelected for a third term in 2010. He served on several committees. These included:

In 2011, Cincinnati faced a problem with bedbugs. Dale Mallory asked the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for help. He wanted them to allow the use of a special product called propoxur to fight the pests.

In November 2012, Mallory won his final term in the Ohio House. He won against Ron Mosby with a large percentage of the votes.
