Dales United Reformed Church is a church located in Nottingham, England. It was built in 1930 and was first known as Parkdale Congregational Church. You can find it on Parkdale Road in the Bakersfield area.
History
How the Church Started
The church first opened its doors in 1930. Back then, it was called Parkdale Congregational Church. It was one of three churches planned by a group called the Nottinghamshire Congregational Churches Extension Committee. They wanted to build new churches for people moving into new homes around Nottingham. The other two churches were in Sherwood and Lenton Abbey.
Becoming Dales United Reformed Church
Parkdale Congregational Church was built to serve the community in Bakersfield, Nottingham. In the 1970s, many Congregational churches, including this one, joined together. They formed a new group called the United Reformed Church. Then, in 1986, this church joined with another one called Albion Congregational Church. Together, they decided to rename themselves Dales United Reformed Church.
