The Dalvik Church (which is called Dalvikskyrkan in Swedish) is a church building located in Dalvik, a part of Jönköping, Sweden. It is part of the Church of Sweden, specifically belonging to the Jönköping Sofia-Järstorp Parish.
This church was officially opened on February 8, 1969. Later, in 1985, it was made bigger with an expansion. Close to the Dalvik Church, there is a place called "Kyrktuppen Kindergarten." This kindergarten is also run by the Church of Sweden.
Fire Incident in 2020
On the night before August 1, 2020, something unexpected happened at the church. A fire started in the kitchen, which is in the basement of the building. The fire caused some damage to that part of the church.
Luckily, firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly. They stopped it before it could spread to other areas of the church building. After the fire, the kindergarten activities were able to start again.
