The Dalvik Church (called Dalvikskyrkan in Swedish) is a church building located in Dalvik, a part of Jönköping, Sweden. It belongs to the Church of Sweden and is part of the Jönköping Sofia-Järstorp Parish. This church was officially opened on February 8, 1969. It was made bigger in 1985 to serve the community better.
The church is also home to the "Kyrktuppen Kindergarten." This is a preschool run by the Church of Sweden right next to the church building.
Fire Incident in 2020
On the night before August 1, 2020, a fire started in the kitchen area of the church's basement. The fire caused some damage to the building.
Firefighters quickly put out the fire. This stopped it from spreading to other parts of the church. Luckily, the kindergarten activities were able to start again soon after the incident.
