Damon is a small place in Illinois, USA. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of Brown County. You can find Damon northwest of Mount Sterling and northeast of Mound Station.
Damon's Past
Damon had a post office for a short time. It opened in 1894. People could send and receive mail there. However, the post office closed its doors in 1907. No one is quite sure how Damon got its name. It's a bit of a mystery!
