Damyean Da'Kethe Dotson (born May 6, 1994) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for the Ningbo Rockets in China. Before that, he played for teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also played college basketball for the University of Oregon and the University of Houston. The Knicks picked him in the 2017 NBA draft.

Damyean Dotson's College Basketball Journey
Damyean Dotson started his college basketball career at the University of Oregon. He played there for two seasons.
After his time at Oregon, he went to Houston Community College. He did not play basketball during this time. Later, he transferred to the University of Houston.
At the University of Houston, he became a very important player. In his senior year, he scored about 17.4 points and grabbed 6.9 rebounds per game. Because of his great performance, he was named to the First Team American Athletic Conference. This is a big honor for college basketball players.
Professional Basketball Career
Joining the New York Knicks
On August 7, 2017, Damyean Dotson officially signed with the New York Knicks. During his first year, he also spent some time playing for the Westchester Knicks. This team is part of the NBA G League, which is like a development league for the NBA. Players can play in both leagues to get more experience.
On November 29, 2017, Dotson made history. He became one of the few players to play in both the G League and the NBA on the same day! On April 6, 2018, he had an amazing game. He scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the Miami Heat.
Time with the Cleveland Cavaliers
On November 25, 2020, Dotson signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played for them for about a year. On September 10, 2021, the Cavaliers decided to let him go.
Playing for the Austin Spurs
After leaving the Cavaliers, Dotson joined the San Antonio Spurs briefly in October 2021. A couple of days later, he joined their G League team, the Austin Spurs. He played 12 games for the Austin Spurs. In these games, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.
Return to the New York Knicks
On December 21, 2021, Damyean Dotson signed a short-term contract with the New York Knicks again. This was a 10-day deal. He signed a second 10-day contract with them on December 31.
Back with the Austin Spurs
On January 11, 2022, Dotson returned to the Austin Spurs in the G League.
Playing Overseas: Gaziantep
On June 23, 2022, Dotson decided to play basketball overseas. He signed with Gaziantep Basketbol, a team in the Basketball Super League in Turkey. He played there until 2023.
Playing in China: Ningbo Rockets
On September 17, 2023, Damyean Dotson signed with the Ningbo Rockets. This team plays in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
