Moving Up to Formula Three
After racing as a guest in 2009, Daniel joined the German Formula Three Championship in 2010. He raced for the Van Amersfoort Racing team. He won two races and finished on the podium ten times. He ended the season as the runner-up. This means he was second overall.

Formula E Adventures (2014–2020)
On February 13, 2014, it was announced that Daniel would race in the first-ever Formula E season. He joined his family's team, Audi Sport ABT. His teammate was Lucas di Grassi.
First Season (2014–15)
Daniel finished third in the very first Formula E race. However, he was later penalized. This was because of some changes made to his car. He ended up in 10th place for that race. He achieved one podium finish and one pole position that season. He finished 11th in the championship.
Winning Races (2017–18)
Daniel Abt won his first Formula E race in the 2018 Mexico City ePrix. This was a big moment for him. It happened after he had raced in 38 Formula E events.
A Challenge and a New Team (2019–20)
