Daniel Boone Wright (born February 17, 1812 – died December 27, 1887) was a politician from Mississippi. He served as a U.S. Representative, which means he was elected to speak for the people of Mississippi in the United States Congress.

Daniel Boone Wright's Life
Early Life and Education
Daniel Boone Wright was born on February 17, 1812, near a town called Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. As a young person, he went to local schools. Later, he attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, and finished his studies there in 1837.
A Career in Law and Politics
After college, Daniel Wright decided to study law. He became a lawyer in 1840 and started his law practice in Ashland, Mississippi. In 1850, he moved to Salem, in Benton County, Mississippi. There, he continued to work as a lawyer and also became involved in farming.
Wright was a member of the Democratic Party. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for two terms. He served from March 4, 1853, to March 3, 1857. He chose not to run for re-election in 1856. After his time in Congress, he went back to being a lawyer in Ashland, Mississippi.
During the Civil War
During the American Civil War, Daniel Wright joined the Confederate States Army. On April 16, 1862, he was made a lieutenant colonel in the Thirty-fourth Regiment of Mississippi Infantry. Later, on June 6, 1864, he became a colonel in the Cavalry. He also worked as a judge in military courts for General N.B. Forrest's Cavalry Division.
After the war, he returned to his law practice in Ashland, Mississippi. He also continued his farming activities in Benton County. Daniel Boone Wright passed away in Ashland, Mississippi, on December 27, 1887. He was buried in the McDonald (private) Cemetery, which is near Ashland, Mississippi.
