Daniel Joseph Byrne (born October 5, 1885 – died June 9, 1952) was an important Irish person. He was a politician, a medical doctor, and a farmer. He became a member of the Irish parliament, called Dáil Éireann, in 1922.

Daniel Byrne's Early Life and Education
Daniel Byrne was born in a place called Graiguealug in County Carlow, Ireland. He went to school at Rockwell College in County Tipperary. After that, he studied medicine at the Yale School of Medicine in the United States. He finished his medical studies in 1909.
Returning to Ireland
Daniel Byrne came back to Ireland in 1915. He later became involved in the Irish War of Independence. This was a time when people in Ireland were fighting for their country's freedom.
Daniel Byrne: Politician and Public Servant
In 1922, Daniel Byrne was chosen to be a Teachta Dála (TD). A TD is like a Member of Parliament in other countries. He represented the area known as Waterford–Tipperary East.
Joining the Farmers' Party
He was part of the Farmers' Party. This was a political group that worked to help farmers and people living in rural areas. Daniel Byrne served in the Dáil for about a year. He did not run for election again in 1923.
