Daniel Emiliano Mora Zevallos (born 18 February 1945) is a Peruvian soldier and politician. He was an important member of the Possible Peru political party. Daniel Mora served as the first Minister of Defense under President Ollanta Humala. He was also a Congressman for the Constitutional Province of Callao from 2011 to 2016.

Education and Military Career
Daniel Mora studied at the Chorrillos Military School from 1963 to 1967. He specialized in engineering. Later, he took advanced courses in military engineering in France. He also studied education at the University of Lima in Peru. In 1998, he learned about international humanitarian law in Italy.
From 1976 to 1980, Daniel Mora taught at the Political Academy of Chile. After the Cenepa War between Peru and Ecuador in 1995, he was a key negotiator for Peru. He helped create the peace treaty called the Itamaraty treaty.
Political Journey
Starting in Politics
Daniel Mora was one of the people who helped start the Possible Peru party in 2000. This party was led by former president Alejandro Toledo. In 2000, he tried to become a Congressman but was not elected.
He held several important jobs in the government. From 2002 to 2003, he worked in the Ministry of Transport and Communication. He also led the National Intelligence Council (CNI) from 2003 to 2004. Later, from 2005 to 2006, he advised the president on decentralization. He ran for Congress again in 2006 but did not win.
Serving as a Congressman
In 2011, Daniel Mora was elected to the Congress. He represented the Constitutional Province of Callao. On 28 July 2011, the new president, Ollanta Humala, chose him to be the Minister of Defense. This happened because of an agreement between their political groups. He left this role in December 2011.
During his time in Congress, he became less involved with the Possible Peru party.
In August 2013, Daniel Mora led the Education Commission in Congress. He proposed a very important law called University Law 30220. This law aimed to improve universities in Peru. It also created a new organization called the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (SUNEDU). SUNEDU helps make sure universities offer good quality education.
After Congress
In 2016, Daniel Mora became a founding member of the Purple Party. This party was led by Julio Guzmán.
In September 2020, he joined the Patriotic Front, a group linked to Antauro Humala. However, he later left this group.
