Daphne Eleanor M Iking, known as Daphne Iking, is a well-known Malaysian television personality. She is also an emcee, which means she hosts events and shows. Sometimes, she works as an actress too.

Early Life and Education
Daphne was born on July 6, 1978, in Keningau, Sabah, Malaysia. Her mother was a nurse, and her father was a policeman who later became a politician. Daphne is the second oldest of four children.
She spent some of her childhood in the United Kingdom. In 1988, she moved back to Malaysia and lived in Penampang. Later, she went to Penang for her university studies. She earned both her first degree and a master's degree in communications from the Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2002.
Daphne's TV Journey
Before becoming a TV star, Daphne worked in marketing for a company called Skywalker TV. Her first appearance on television was as a model in a Pond's advertisement. The next year, she started co-hosting Ringgit Sense on TV3. This show taught people about money and finance.
In 2003, Daphne won a beauty pageant title called Unduk Ngadau Kuala Lumpur. She then represented Kuala Lumpur and became the first winner from the city to win the state-level title.
Hosting Popular Shows
Daphne quickly became famous as the host of Explorace in 2004. This was a reality show similar to The Amazing Race, where teams competed in challenges. She was known for her energetic personality. She hosted Explorace for two years.
After that, she hosted many other shows. These included PNB World Investment Challenge on TV3 and Vector Challenge on 8TV. She also hosted Explorace Kids on TV3 and a health and beauty segment. Daphne also reported for factual programs like The Brand and Majalah Tiga.
Acting and Scriptwriting
In 2006, Daphne got a supporting role in the TV series KL Lights. She also co-hosted My Australian Adventure, a travel show on TV3. Interestingly, she was not just the host but also helped write the script for this show.
Later in 2006, she moved to ntv7 and became a host for The Breakfast Show. She also worked as an assistant producer for the show. In 2007, she acted in a TV movie called Adik and had a small part in a Singaporean drama.
In 2009, Daphne was nominated for "Favourite Television Personality" at the Malaysian Shout! Awards for her work on The Breakfast Show. She also acted in a Malaysian independent film called Belukar in 2010. That same year, she played a nurse in a short film called Prelude in F Minor. She also appeared in the comedy film My Spy.
Daphne was nominated again for "Favourite Television Personality" in 2010. She left The Breakfast Show in 2011 after four years. She then joined an English women's program called "Bella" on ntv7.
New Ventures and Projects
Daphne started hosting shows in the Malay language, stepping out of her usual English-speaking roles. She hosted a program called “Ekspresi Kreatif D.I.Y Daphne” for RTM. This show was all about her love for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects.
Because she is so well-known, Daphne was also chosen to host the popular reality show "Say Yes To The Dress Asia" on TLC. She hosted it alongside famous fashion designer Dato' Jovian Mandagie.
Daphne also appeared in the music video "Sumandak Sabah" with singers Marsha Milan and Velvet Aduk. In 2019, she shared her life journey on Astro's Naura Shares. She also guest-hosted a show with Sheikh Hussin Yee.
In August 2019, Daphne co-hosted a 10-episode show called “Girl’s Day Out” with her friend and TV personality, Lisa Surihani. This show discussed women's rights and roles in society.
Personal Life
Daphne married businessman Ryan Chong Yiing Yih in January 2007 in Bali, Indonesia. They had a daughter named Isobel Daniella. The couple later divorced in 2009. Daphne then married entrepreneur Azmi Abdul Rahman in 2010.
