Darko Perić (born March 25, 1977) is an actor. He is well-known for playing the character Helsinki in the Spanish TV series La Casa de Papel. This show is a popular crime thriller.

Early Life and Education
Growing Up in Kladovo
Darko Perić was born in Kladovo, a town in Serbia. From a very young age, he loved performing. When he was just six years old, he sang on stage with a Cuban singer. This experience made him want to be in every school play.
Dreams Interrupted by War
In 1991, the Yugoslav Wars began. This stopped his dream of going to animation school. His parents wanted him to become a doctor instead. So, he went to veterinary school in Bucharest, Romania.
Finding His Passion Again
In Romania, Darko rediscovered his love for acting and movies. He met students from the Romanian Film Academy who inspired him. He continued to study medicine while also acting in short films.
Life in Timișoara
In 1994, Perić moved to Timișoara, another city in Romania. He finished his veterinary studies there and graduated with high honors. During this time, he also became involved in the local music scene. He sang in punk bands and helped organize events. This led him to meet many artists from around the world.
Moving to Germany and Spain
These experiences inspired him to move to Berlin, Germany. He continued acting in short films there until 2004. Then, he moved to Spain and chose Barcelona as his new home.
Acting Career
First Big Roles
Darko Perić got his first major acting job in Spain in 2010. He appeared in the TV series Crematorio for Canal +. In 2015, he was in the movie A Perfect Day.
Playing Oso in Mar de plástico
In 2016, he played a character named Oso in the TV series Sea of Plastic. Oso was a Ukrainian gangster and a main villain in the show.
Becoming Helsinki in Money Heist
His most famous role is Helsinki in the crime thriller series Money Heist. He played this character from 2017 to 2021. The show became very popular after Netflix bought it. It won the Best Drama award at the Emmy Awards in 2018.
Personal Life and Hobbies
Darko Perić is very talented with languages; he can speak six different ones! He also teaches Qigong, which is a traditional Chinese practice that combines movement, meditation, and breathing. He teaches these classes to actors to help them prepare physically and mentally. He is also a big fan of basketball.
