Darko Perić (born March 25, 1977) is an actor. He is famous for playing Helsinki in the Spanish TV show Money Heist. This show is also known as La Casa de Papel.

Early Life
Darko Perić was born in Kladovo. He loved acting from a young age. When he was six, a Cuban singer invited him to sing "Guantanamera" on stage. This moment made him want to perform in every school play.
In 1991, the Yugoslav Wars began. This stopped his dream of going to animation school. His parents wanted him to become a doctor instead. So, he went to veterinary school in Bucharest, Romania. There, he found his love for movies and theater again. This happened thanks to his friends at the Romanian Film Academy. He kept studying medicine while acting in short films.
In 1994, Perić moved to Timișoara, Romania. He continued his medicine studies and acted in live theater. After six years, he finished his veterinary medicine degree with high honors. While in Timișoara, he also joined the local hardcore and punk music scenes. He sang in bands and helped organize events. He met many artists from different countries. This made him want to move to Germany. He settled in Berlin and kept acting in short films. In 2004, he moved to Spain and chose Barcelona as his home.
Career
Darko Perić got his first big acting job in Spain in 2010. It was for the TV show Crematorio on Canal +. In 2015, he acted in the movie A Perfect Day.
In 2016, he played Oso in the TV show Sea of Plastic / Mar de plástico. Oso was a Ukrainian gangster and the main bad guy in the series. His most famous role is Helsinki in the crime thriller show Money Heist. This show ran from 2017 to 2021. Netflix bought the series, which helped it become very popular. It won the Best Drama award at the Emmy Awards in 2018.
Personal Life
Darko Perić can speak six languages. He also teaches Qigong around the world. Qigong is a type of exercise that helps actors prepare their bodies and minds. He is also a big fan of basketball.
