Darragh McDonald is a talented Irish swimmer who won many medals. He was born on June 13, 1994. Darragh competed in the Paralympic Games. He also became a world champion. He retired from competitive swimming in 2015.

Darragh McDonald: An Irish Swimming Star
Darragh McDonald grew up in Gorey, Ireland. He became a very skilled swimmer. Darragh specialized in freestyle races. He trained hard with the Asgard Swimming Club. He also swam for University College Dublin.
Paralympic Achievements
Darragh first competed in the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008. He won a silver medal there. This was for the 400-meter freestyle race. It was a huge achievement for him.
He then competed in the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Darragh swam incredibly well. He finished first in the 400-meter freestyle. This earned him a gold medal. It was a very proud moment for Darragh and for Ireland.
World and European Championships
Darragh also showed his talent at other big competitions. In 2013, he became a world champion. He won a gold medal at the World Championships in Montreal. This made him one of the best swimmers in the world.
He also won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow. Darragh earned silver medals at the European Championships in Reykjavik in 2009. He won a bronze medal at the European Championships in Berlin in 2011.
Life After Swimming
Darragh McDonald decided to retire from competitive swimming in October 2015. After his swimming career, Darragh focused on his studies. He graduated from University College Dublin. He earned a degree in commerce. After graduating, Darragh started working at KPMG. He joined them as a tax trainee in their Dublin office.
