Darrell Brown's Early Life and College
Darrell Brown was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He grew up and went to Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California. After high school, he continued his baseball journey. He played college baseball at California State University, Los Angeles.
Playing in Major League Baseball
Darrell Brown played in Major League Baseball for four seasons. He played for the Detroit Tigers, the Oakland Athletics, and the Minnesota Twins. The Detroit Tigers picked him in the third round of the 1977 amateur draft. This was a big step in his baseball career.
His first professional season was in 1977. He played for the Lakeland Tigers, a team in the lower leagues. His last season in the major leagues was in 1984. He then played for other teams in the minor leagues until 1986. These teams included the Phoenix Firebirds, Calgary Cannons, and Oklahoma RedHawks.
Playing Baseball in Taiwan
After his time in the MLB and minor leagues, Darrell Brown also played baseball in Taiwan. He played for two teams there. From 1991, he played for the Brother Elephants. Then, from 1992 to 1993, he played for the Wei Chuan Dragons.
