Darryl Yong started his journey in the entertainment world by joining singing and acting competitions. He was a contestant on Project SuperStar in 2005. Later, he also took part in Star Search 2010, which is a big acting competition in Singapore.

Even though he didn't win the Star Search Grand Finals, Darryl was one of the top finalists. He was offered a contract by MediaCorp, a major media company in Singapore. This helped him start his acting career.

Before becoming an actor, Darryl studied law and management at Temasek Polytechnic. He also worked as a flight attendant for Singapore Airlines. This means he traveled a lot and helped passengers on airplanes.
