Dave Edwards: A Baseball Player
Dave Edwards was a talented baseball player who spent several years in the big leagues. He played for two different teams during his career. He was known for his skills in the outfield.
His Time in Major League Baseball
Dave Edwards started his MLB career with the Minnesota Twins in 1978. He played for them until 1980. After that, he joined the San Diego Padres and played there from 1981 to 1982.
Over his five seasons, Dave played in 321 games. He had a batting average of .238. This means he got a hit almost 24% of the times he tried to hit the ball. He also hit 14 home runs and helped his team score 73 runs (RBI). An RBI means he hit the ball in a way that allowed a teammate to score a run.
Dave was also a good fielder. He played in all three outfield positions: left field, center field, and right field. His fielding percentage was .958, which shows he was very good at catching the ball and making plays.
A Family of Baseball Players
What's really cool about Dave Edwards is that he isn't the only one in his family who played in Major League Baseball! He has two brothers, Mike and Marshall Edwards, who are twins. Both of them also played professional baseball in the major leagues. It's pretty rare to have three brothers all play at such a high level!
