David Davis Cámara is a famous Spanish handball coach and a former player. He was born on October 25, 1976, in Barcelona, Spain. David grew up in Santa Maria de Palautordera. His parents were from the Bubi group in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

As a player, David usually played as a left winger. His last team was FC Porto in 2013. After his playing career, he started coaching. In 2014, he became an assistant coach for RK Vardar in Skopje, Macedonia. Later, in 2016, he became the head coach for ŽRK Vardar, a women's handball team.

David Davis: From Player to Coach

David Davis began his coaching journey in 2014. He joined the coaching staff of RK Vardar. There, he worked alongside Raúl González Gutiérrez. Together, they achieved great success.

Winning the EHF Champions League

In 2017, David and Raúl helped RK Vardar win the EHF Champions League. This is a very important competition in European handball. They had come close to winning in the two years before. The team also reached the EHFCL Final4 again in 2018.

Coaching National Teams

In the summer of 2018, David took on a new challenge. He became the head coach of the Egyptian national team. He led them in the 2019 World Cup in Denmark. The team achieved a historic eighth place, which was a great result for Egypt.

Leading Telekom Veszprém

In October 2018, David became the coach of Telekom Veszprém. This was a Hungarian team. He helped the team recover during a tough season. They went on to win the Hungarian League and the SEHA League. They also reached the Champions League final.

The Egyptian Federation wanted David to coach their team full-time. But David chose to stay with Telekom Veszprém. In the 2019/2020 season, the team again qualified for the Final4. In 2021, after losing in the quarterfinals, David left the team.

Return to RK Vardar

In January 2022, David returned to Skopje. He became the manager of RK Vardar 1961. The team was facing challenges at that time. Despite injuries and financial difficulties, David led them to success. The Macedonians won both the League and the Cup. However, RK Vardar was later not allowed to play in European competitions. This led to David leaving the team.

Coaching Al Ahly and Dinamo București

From 2022 to 2024, David coached Al Ahly, an Egyptian handball club. He led them to win the Egyptian Handball League, the Egypt Handball Cup, and the African Handball Super Cup in 2023. Since 2024, David has been coaching Dinamo București in Romania.
