About David Lubar

David Lubar grew up in Morristown, New Jersey. When he was a kid, he loved spending time at the library, especially the one where his mom worked. He went to Rutgers University and studied philosophy. After college, he wanted to be a full-time writer. But he needed a job that paid more, so he started working in other fields. David got married in 1977. In 1980, he began writing for a magazine called Creative Computing.

In 1982, David got an exciting job offer in California. He started designing and programming video games! He created games for systems like the Atari 2600, Atari 8-bit computers, Apple II, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Game Boy.

Even though he enjoyed making games, David still wanted to write books. So, in 1994, he started writing again while still working as a game developer. By 1995, he had sold six books, and his game company closed down. For a short time in 1998 and 1999, he focused more on game programming for the Game Boy. But soon after, he returned to writing books. From 2000 to 2005, David wrote many short stories for different collections.

Today, David Lubar writes from his home. He has a daughter named Alison, who is a teacher.
