David Rocco's Early Life and Family
David Rocco was born in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada. This was on July 27, 1970. His parents came from Naples, Italy. They were both hairdressers. David is the youngest of their three children. When he was a teenager, his family moved to Woodbridge, Ontario.
In 1995, David married his high school sweetheart, Nina. They later moved to Rosedale, Toronto. They have three children: twin daughters and a son.
As a teenager, David worked as a model. He worked for agencies like Elite. He and Nina also took acting classes. They both studied at York University. For a short time, they ran an Italian restaurant. It was called La Madonnina. But they decided to focus on acting instead.
David Rocco's Journey to TV Chef
In 1997, David wanted to create a food show. He and Nina were on holiday in Italy. They filmed a video about different foods. They showed it to a TV company in Toronto. This led to his first TV series. It was called Avventura: Journey in Italian Cuisine. This show had 26 episodes.
In 2005, David's own TV series started. It was called David Rocco's Dolce Vita. It first aired on Food Network Canada. The show became very popular. It was even shown in the U.S. on the Cooking Channel. The series ran for five seasons. It ended in 2010.
